St. Francis of Assisi-Meadowvale
Message from the Rector

A Message from Ann's Desktop:

I encourage you to read my sermons.
If you wish to enter into dialogue about the faith, then visit my blog at: www.onlinesermons.blogspot.com

The truth is that I see St. Francis as a place where people are blossoming in the faith.
A place that welcomes everyone, young and old, rich and poor.
A place where people are listened to.
A place where faith comes alive.
A place where we, the people of God, minister to one another.
A place where each of us experiences that we are loved by God!

I hope this ministry is a blessing to you.

About the Rev. Ann Smith: Ann Smith is the minister of St. Francis of Assisi Meadowvale. She started officially on October 1, 2000, the same day we celebrate our patron saint, Francis of Assisi. The formal induction of Ann Smith as the priest of St. Francis was held as a special service on October 22, 2000.

Ann was ordained in 1991 after a career teaching music. She has been the incumbent of St. Francis of Assisi in Mississauga for almost seven years now. She lives in the rectory with her two dogs, Jewel, a fourteen year old Spaniel Terrier cross, and Gemma, a one year old Lhasa Apso Terrier cross. Look forward to four-legged company if you visit.

Ann was previously the incumbent of St. Thomas church located in Brooklin, Ontario, Canada from 1993-2000. Brooklin is located a short distance east of metropolitan Toronto.

She is spiritually minded and youth oriented — developing two youth groups within St. Thomas — and has a great love of music. Prior to joining the ministry, Ann taught choral music at the Etobicoke School Board, served as their Music Consultant while teaching, and developed the music curriculum for Grades 1-5. Presently, Ann is Spiritual Director of the Cursillo Movement and she served on several Diocesan boards between 1991 and 1999.
